Starring Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson, Christoph Waltz. This adaptation is about a veterinary student who abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet.
It is really an hour and a half of R.P. closeups and a wonderful performance by Christoph Waltz. The adaptation was less than admirable, but the overall production was beautiful. If you enjoyed the book, and don't want to ruin that experience, then don't see the movie. There was no way to fit the whole book into this movie. They would need multiple installments like Twilight...for the full R.P. effect.
The movie was good. Great for all ages. Not so great for critics and book lovers. "Water for Elephants" will earn 4 out of 5 Cyclones for not having many theatrical flaws, but merely for failing to put man-liner on Pattinson's eyes. Go see it.
