TIM CHANEY calls for new leadership in SEIU Local 1000.

TIM CHANEY, a 20-year state worker with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) today announced his candidacy for president of SEIU Local 1000, the largest union of California state employees.

Calling for an end to a top-down style of leadership and the return of an open, responsive, and accountable union, Chaney called on members to stand up and help bring about a union we all need and deserve.

Nominations for various union officers positions at the local and statewide level are scheduled to start in January 2011 and balloting will occur sometime in April 2011.

Chaney is expected later to announce the other members of his team.

Everyone at Tim Chaney's worksite knows that he cheats on his wife with the secretary/treasurer of his DLC. Sometimes Tim brings his wife to the DLC meetings, sometimes he brings his girlfriend. This is NOT the kind of sleezeball I want running my union. YVONNE WALKER has done a great job as our president during the toughest time our union has ever been through.

Tim has been divorced from his wife for many years. Everyone deserves a second chance at finding the person they love.

To state that Walker has done a "great" job is farther from the truth...nearly two years of FURLOUGHS and massive pay cuts, state workers loosing their home, state workers becoming homeless, massive layoffs of state teachers, massive layoffs of DGS custodians, etc..We don't think that's a "great" job!!!

NO!!! Yvonne Walker has done a VERY VERY POOR JOB. It's time to return her to her state job. Besides, she should not make a career of being on union leave for nearly 10+ years.

As a state worker for nearly 20+ years, Yvonne Walker is the WORST union leader imaginable! My coworkers and I loss so much under her watch.

Walker has an entourage (clique) and has isolated everyone that is NOT in her clique.

Under Walker, state workers loss jobs, loss their houses, loss pay, loss everything else that matters to them.

Walker taking a nice long trip overseas while state workers are suffering is not exactly a good thing for her to do. For her to take her gang along the trip is horrible.

NO...Walker needs to go!!!
