Narnia pass? Empty
PostSubject: Narnia pass?   Narnia pass? I_icon_minitimeWed Nov 24, 2010 4:15 am

I was sitting here, checking email all day yesterday and they didn't release the code.
I wake up today, and they had released the code at 7 in the morning, and they're now all gone.

Does anyone have a pass for 2 that I can use to bring my son to Narnia?

Thanks -

Oh, I know... within minutes after the code was released, it was all gone. I'd love to get a pair of passes too.

Thank you. Smile

I'm new to the site & I try to get passes, it's very tough! How can they make it fair? Question

They could make it a lot fairer if they sent out the RSVP codes within an hour or 2 of sending out the email saying it's "coming soon".

This business of sending it out THE DAY AFTER saying it's "coming soon" is bogus.

Good point John. I mostly get passes through other friends. Never have I got them on my own. I guess I will keep trying. I don't go often, but when I do, I see many familar faces Wink

Lovely.
They sent out another email (with NO warning this time), probably directly in reply to this thread, and I was making my sons dinner.

aaaaand they're gone now, of course - I wonder how long they lasted?

What I don;t see, is any realistic mechanism in place for people who enter the codes to release them when they realize they can't make the screening.

There supposedly is something in place, but I haven't seen them actually be re-released.

I don't know if this answers your question but a lot of the time when people release the tickets on gofobo it'll send out an "Exclusive Email" invite the day/night of the screening releasing them again.

This thread bugged me last night when I read it the first time and it still bugs me. So I decided to come back and post.

I think it is rude to complain about the method used to give something away for free! This site is run free of charge. There are no membership fees and you aren't paying anything for the opportunity to score free movie passes (among other things). If you win, cool you get to see a movie before everyone else and it is free. If you don't win, then you are no worse off than you were before.

If you don't win and post seeing if anyone has spares that is fine. Be appreciative if someone helps you out but remember that no one has to give up their passes!

(And before you blast me for being one of those "who you know" people, please look and see how many tickets I have tried to pay forward. They weren't all received through this site. There are a lot of places to get free passes from and if I can't use them, this is the place I come to share because I know that others will do the same for me.)

Lemme get this straight -
you think it's "rude" to point out that it's rude when they send out an email announcing that they are going to be "sending out the code for Narnia soon", yet they wait till the next morning to do it?

I wouldn't dream of "blasting you".
It just seems odd that pointing this out would cause you such concern that you would come back to tell everyone they should just not say anything. (?)

I simply initially asked if anyone kindly had an extra code -
and no, noone "has to" give up their passes, and noone probably will - heck, it looks like a really good movie.

I don't believe that being quiet about an obvious oversight/mistake helps anyone.
I think it would be ruder NOT to mention a problem, since it can be fixed and help other people.

I stand by what I said. I do think it is rude to complain and it does annoy me that people are ungrateful when someone puts their time and energy into trying to do something nice for others.

You felt the need to express how you felt about this site's method of sending out codes and I felt the need to express how I felt about the voicing of dissatisfaction. You feel it must have been a mistake. Why not give them the benefit of the doubt? Perhaps they intended to send out the code but something more important came up.

Guess I was wrong in thinking people should be happy for the opportunity to get sneak preview passes without being the 30th caller on some radio show.

Hello John,

Thank you for your input in regards to the NARNIA RSVP code. Any promotion that is listed as COMING SOON means a single RSVP code, or contest will posted within a reasonable amount a time. This can be within a few hours of the post, the next day, or withing a few weeks, it all depends on the promotion and on our time constraints. We do our best to keep everything up to date. Also, understand that single codes (also known as e-mail blast codes) tend to go in matter of minutes because they are first come first serve. The more popular movies, such as Narnia, are more likely to go faster .

In response to giving members an issue time, we have set dedicated issue times in the pass but this actually gives your less of a chance of receiving passes due to everybody logging on the same time. Furthermore, we had three screenings the night before (Faster, 127 Hours, Tangled) and notified attendees if they join our site a code would be issued the next day (which it was).

Releasing codes is not common but does happen. We are the only promoting outlet that notifies members when codes have been released. It's not common but I assure it's not bogus. Please remember that receiving screening passes is a privilege and in the slumping economy everyone is looking for opportunities for free entertainment. We are glad that you were able to find passes through other members post within the forum. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
