What is your favorite fast food and why?

Subway is by far my favorite fast food.

I'm not a big fan of greasy food, full of preservatives. I want to know that my sand-which is fresh, and not something that has been sitting under a heat lamp for the past three hours. I want to know that the person preparing my food isn't wiping snot from their nose, or picking at their ears before touching what I am about to put into my mouth.

At Subway, I can take all three of my children, and we can all choose something that we like. Whether it is a hot or cold sub, a salad or a pizza, we can order what we want, and how we want it. There's no chance that when we leave, or sand-which is going to contain onions, when we asked for "no onions". If we ask for tomatoes on our salad, we are going to get them, because we watch them make our food - right before our eyes.

The selection here is enormous, they literally have something for everyone! The have several types of bread, ranging from white, to wheat, to Italian. Meat selections vary from turkey, chicken, roast beef, ham, salami, bacon, meatballs, bologna, tuna, and more. Cheese is abundant, from American, provolone, pepper jack, and cheddar. Whether you choose a salad, sub, wrap, or pizza, your toppings seem endless also. Lettuce, spinach, carrots, onions, cucumbers, green peppers, mild peppers, pickles, tomato, olives... the list goes on and on. They also have a wide variety of dressings and specialty sauces.

If you order a sand-which, you start out by choosing your bread. Then you select your meat, cheese, toppings, and condiments. They add the items you choose as you ask for them. If you want a little more or a little less of something, they will adjust it to your liking. You can opt for having your sand-which toasted, warmed, or cold.

I love the fact that the employees wear gloves, and change them after making each sand-which, or handing anything other than your food. Having high sanitary standards is important to me. Subway also lists the nutritional value for all of their food. Not only is the information available on their website, but it is also posted in the stores, and printed on all of their napkins. How convenient is that?! Many of their menu items do not contain any animal-derived ingredients, perfect for vegetarians. The also offer Fresh Fit meals for those who opt for something on the healthier side. Instead of ordering a bag of chips, a cookie, and soda with your sand-which, you can choose items like raisins, apples, yogurt, juice, or milk.

If you can't get to a Subway restaurant, let them come to you! They offer a reasonably priced catering service as well. With almost 30,000 restaurants in 86 countries, there's bound to be a Subway near you!
